Will I have to sacrifice my view because of too much sun?
Not with View-Thru™ at your windows! View-Thru™ Shades filter and diffuse bright sunlight, provide protection from the sun's heat, glare and damaging UV rays, and still let you enjoy your wonderful view.

If I can see out, can people who are outside see in through my windows?
Illuminated interiors do allow inward visibility at night therefore View-Thru™ Shades are not suitable for night time privacy. If complete privacy is desired, a second treatment - such as a curtain - is necessary.

Just how clear will my view be with Sun Shade Systems View-Thru™ Shades?
View-Thru™ Shades allow total outward visibility. The Shade-Within™ System with the Lyverscreen® fabric option also allows partial outward visibility.

Can Sun Shade Systems View-Thru™ Shades protect my furniture from fading?
Yes. View-Thru™ Shades contain a special ultra violet UV inhibitor, which effectively filters out 99% of UV radiation to help protect fabric, furniture, carpets and artwork from fading.

However, it is important to remember that solar film does not claim to totally eliminate fading, only to help reduce fading from the sun's U.V. rays by slowing down the process. The expectation from testing using blue wool standards is that the fade rate is usually halved or better.

Many other factors contribute to fading and some of these factors may be more likely to cause a fading problem. Fading due to visible and infrared radiation are together about equal to fading caused by ultra violet light. Some materials are more susceptible to ultra violet light whilst others are more susceptible to visible and infrared radiation. Heat, poor dye anchorage and internal factors such as fluorescent tubes or spot lighting should also be considered.

Ultra violet light rays bounce off solid objects - buildings, trees, streets, etc. Therefore, regardless of UV direction, there can still be a fading problem.

I have a sun-filled room but sometime feel like I should be wearing sunglasses inside! Can Sun Shade Systems View-Thru Shades™ help?
View-Thru™ Shades reduce the sun's glare by up 93%, depending on the choice of film. Gold and Silver reflective films are the most effective. Solar shades reduce glare from sun, snow and water and control reflections on television and computer screens - making them ideal for homes, offices and entertainment areas.

What colour film is best for heat and glare control?
Gold and Silver are the most effective options, followed by Grey then Bronze.

I live where it can be cold three seasons of the year? Why would I need Sun Shade Systems View-Thru™ Shades?
View-Thru™ Shades are suitable for every climate and season - not just the summer months. Glare can be noticeably worse in the winter, since the sun is much lower in the sky, and will penetrate far deeper into a room. View-Thru™ Shades improve thermal performance and increase comfort levels considerably.

I have just installed new energy-efficient windows in my home … do I still need Sun Shade Systems View-Thru™ Shades?
The right choice of window coverings greatly enhances the energy efficiency of your windows, old or new. View-Thru™ Shades protect glass from solar exposure and heat gain and may be installed at tinted, insulated, reflective and low-emittance (Low-E) coated windows with no problems.

My windows are very large. What size can you supply View-Thru™ Shades?
We can manufacture shades up to 4 metres wide by 3 metres drop, however, if both the width and drop are greater than 1700 mm then a horizontal join in the film will be required. This join can be placed towards the top or the bottom of the shade - your choice - depending on eye level and view.
