Manufactured with state-of-the-art high performance solar films View-Thru™ shades offer a choice of solar protection factors, combined with a wide spectrum of secondary characteristics such as fade protection, insulation, privacy and security.

The range includes smooth or textured films and is designed primarily to combat the effects of solar heat gain and to substantially reduce glare. Textured films effectively diffuse incoming light and provide exceptional durability and resilience, without compromising on heat or glare protection. Traditional smooth films allow a 100% clear view. Both films are available in reflective and non-reflective options, with a choice of four colour combinations suitable for residential or commercial applications. Reflective films provide maximum solar control with daytime privacy and security, while non-reflective films primarily offer glare control and UV protection.

Clear View
View-Thru™ shades offer maximum transparency and optical clarity. The transparent film is constructed using thin layers of polyester and a micro thin layer of aluminium, which rejects the sun's infrared rays, giving the shades a heat reflecting quality and counters the harmful effects of the sun, without obstructing the view. Ideal for windows where an outside view is desirable such as a garden room, conservatory or office.

Flexibility
An advantage of View-Thru™ shades over adhesive films is the invaluable flexibility to create a constant and comfortable living or working environment by simply opening or closing the shades when needed. Solar shades combine remarkable sunlight control with advanced transparency characteristics to ensure comfort and a constant view of the world.

Save Energy
View-Thru™ shades will enhance your living space with their subtle elegance and give you a comfortable and private environment. When lowered into place, they provide the benefit of their thermal insulation performance of reducing solar heat and glare in summer, and retaining some of the heat that would be lost in winter thanks to the outstanding reflective and insulating property of the metallised film. Therefore they can help to reduce air-conditioning requirements in summer and heating requirements in winter. However, it is a common misconception that solar shading is only necessary in the summer. Whilst true in respect of heat gain, glare can be noticeably worse in the winter, since the sun is much lower in the sky, and will penetrate far deeper into a room.

Fade Protection
In our home or work environments UV radiation is the main source of fading. Exposure to UV radiation can cause expensive damage to carpets, furniture, draperies, wooden floors, artwork or museum exhibits. However, View-Thru™ shade films contain a special UV inhibitor which effectively filters out at least 99% of UV radiation. This offers protection against solar related fading and deterioration by slowing down the process. However, it is worth remembering that fading cannot be totally eliminated as other factors such as the age of the item, colour-fastness and interior lighting can also cause fading.

Protect Health
UV-A rays are less intense than UV-B, but they penetrate deeper into the dermis or the base layer of the skin. UV-A rays can pass easily through glass and contribute to premature ageing of the skin (wrinkling), as well as skin burning and, in severe cases, the development of skin cancer. View-Thru™ shades can help to eliminate this potential problem.

Privacy and Security
For those concerned about privacy and security View-Thru™ reflective* films help to keep out prying eyes during the day as they act as a 'one-way mirror' from the outside looking in, but still allow a view out. However, maximum privacy can only be achieved if there is more light on the side of the window where visible obstruction is needed. This means that shade films offer privacy during the day, but at night you cannot see out, and a curtain may be required to prevent people from looking in!

Operating Systems
View-Thru™ shades are available in a choice of operating systems. The manual system is a continuous side chain loop (left or right handed) that includes a chain retention hook to secure the bottom of the loop to the wall for child safety. Electric operation can be via a wall switch or remote control.

View-Thru™ Specialist is incorporated into a protective aluminium cassette headbox and is electrically operated.

View-Thru™ Original is also incorporated into a protective aluminium cassette headbox but is operated manually with a side chain control.

View-Thru™ Economy is a cost effective alternative as it does not have an aluminium cassette headbox. It is operated manually with a side chain control.

From an aesthetic point of view the aluminium cassette headbox has a neat, compact profile, which combines perfectly with most modern interiors. The headbox incorporates a brush, which automatically self-cleans the surface of the shade film as it is raised and lowered. To create your own individual look the aluminium profile can be powder coated in a wide range of colours with either a matt, satin or gloss finish to co-ordinate perfectly with your interior decor.
